Jewelry Making Course: Basic Bead Stringing

A 2.5-hour workshop with Designer Lily Morda. This is a Beginner level course. Offered as Private, one-on-one instruction or at a discounted group rate. See the drop down menu for per person group course prices. 

*Please note: Some basic stringing and practice materials included. Beads and other materials necessary to complete class projects are sold separately. Students receive a 10% discount on any materials purchased on the day(s) of the workshop. Students are also welcome to bring beads or broken jewelry pieces from home, to incorporate into their finished pieces.

Voucher Purchase: This class voucher can be purchased for your own use (dates to be decided together after purchase) or given as a gift (a gift certificate can be provided, which can be emailed to the recipient or printed).

What does the course cover? Learn the RIGHT way to string and professionally finish beautiful, durable and comfortable to wear designer necklaces and bracelets. Students will learn about the different stringing materials available, and learn how to properly finish their pieces for maximum durability and comfort. Creating multi-strand necklaces and bracelets will also be explored at students’ request. Some of the areas we explore:

• How to string beads like a professional designer
• Basic Color and Design Principles
• Crimping and Finishing your pieces with clasps
• Multi strand stringing (when time permits)

And of course, all of the items you create in class are yours to keep and enjoy.

What do I need to bring? Nothing but yourself and a desire to learn! However, if you have some beads or broken jewelry pieces at home that you would like to incorporate into your class project, please feel free to bring them along. All necessary tools, along with coffee and tea are provided. Stringing materials and practice ribbon are also provided.

Cancellations:

• Cancellations received at least 1 week in advance will result in either a full refund, less a 10% processing fee, or one free opportunity to re-schedule, at the student's request. 
• Cancellations with at least 48 hours prior notice will be permitted to re-schedule with one free date change. 
• We are sorry, but we cannot offer refunds on workshop tuition for students who cancel with less than 48 hour notice  and who cannot re-schedule a date change.

Course Instructor: Lily Morda has been a professional jewelry designer, teacher and avid bead collector in both the U.S. and Europe since 1988. Her unique, creative, high quality designs have sold to collectors all over the world.

Course Dates & Times: Private and group classes are scheduled at a time and date to suit your needs. You will be contacted once we receive your voucher purchase. When purchasing your voucher you will be given the opportunity to tell us your preferred course date(s). If you and a friend or two (or more) would like to schedule a class together, discounted group pricing is available. See the drop-down menu on the upper part of the page, next to the product photo, for prices. For this class, We can accommodate small groups of 2-5 students. Group classes are generally 2.5 - long. Course Location: We offer our workshops in a lovely part of Italy known as La Versilia, nestled along the northern coast of Tuscany, and into the hills above. This spectacular area offers a wealth of riches: From Carrara marble, and the renown sculpture town of Pietrasanta,  to the hills and valleys of Camaiore, Seravezza and the Apuan Alps. Mediterranean beaches, charming small coastal and inland cities and smaller hill towns generously peppered among forested hills. All within a short drive from the studio...A perfect spot for your creative holiday adventure!
