Association Creare Per Vivere Open Studio Workshop: Repair/Up-Cycle Your Broken Jewelry, Thursday Afternoons 4-6PM, (or scheduled to suit). €12.50/per person.
Bijou Arte Designs, working in conjunction with Association Creare per Vivere, is pleased to bring you this exciting on-going "open studio"-styled workshop, to be held every Thursday from 4-6PM, at our centro Camaiore location, until further notice. Other days and times are available by request for groups of two or more.
What we'll do: If you have fashion jewelry that is broken or that you no longer wear, we can help you turn your items into new pieces that you will absolutely love! You can bring along your little-worn or broken jewelry pieces for simple repair, or turn them into whole new creations with our expert assistance. Our full range of beads and jewelry making supplies will also be at your disposal for purchase, to add to your old jewelry as needed in order to create whole new pieces. We will guide you through the jewelry making process and help you to turn those pieces that have just been sitting in your jewelry box into something that reflects your current style and that you will love to wear now and in the days to come. Basic bead stringing supplies included.
Workshop Schedule: *Please note: Workshops can be scheduled to suit, for 2-6 persons. If you cannot make our usually scheduled Thursday afternoon sessions, please include preferred date and time in the comments section of your order. Include your phone number. We will get back to you via email ASAP to confirm your workshop date and time within two business days of your class booking.
Cost of Workshop: - If you live most of the year in the Lucca province, we ask that you join the not-for-profit Association Creare per Vivere for a donation fee of €10 euro per year. Your membership is good for one year from the day that you apply for it and your participation in our events/classes is insured through AICS. With your membership, you will receive all of the access and privileges that go along with any AICS affiliate membership, a long with discounts and members-only access to the workshops and events put on by our Association. The cost of the actual workshop, itself is €12.50 per person, per two hour session, which includes basic stringing materials. Additional Beads, charms, etc. are sold separately.
*All proceeds from this workshop will be donated to the non-profit Association Creare Per Vivere.
What do I need to bring? Bring loose beads or broken jewelry pieces from home that you would like to incorporate into your class project. Also, feel free to bring along any simple repairs that do not require soldering. All necessary tools and basic stringing materials, along with coffee and tea, are included in the workshop fee. Beads and other jewelry components are sold separately.
*If you are traveling and don't have pieces that you want to up-cycle with you, no worries, we are happy to help you put together something from scratch using our lovely selection of beads and jewelry making components.
Cancellations:
- Cancellations for our already scheduled Thursday workshops will have one opportunity to re-schedule for a following Thursday.
- For workshops scheduled for other times, cancellations with at least 48 hours prior notice will be permitted to re-schedule with one free date change.
- We are sorry, but we cannot offer refunds on workshop tuition for students who cannot make the scheduled time and who cannot re-schedule a date change.
Course Instructor: Lily Morda has been a professional jewelry designer, teacher and avid bead collector in both the U.S. and Europe since 1988. Her unique, high quality designs have sold to collectors all over the world.
Course Dates & Times: Classes are held every Thursday Afternoon, from 4-6PM or can be scheduled at a time and date to suit your needs. Pre-registration is required to guarantee your spot. When purchasing your space in a workshop, you will automatically receive a class voucher. When purchasing your voucher you will be given the opportunity to let us know your preferred course date. We can accommodate small groups of 2-6 students. Group classes are generally 2-3hrs. long.
Course Location: We offer our workshops in the lovely town of Camaiore, nestled along the northern coast of Tuscany and into the hills above, in the coastal zone known as La Versilia. This spectacular area offers a wealth of riches: From Carrara marble, and the renown sculpture town of Pietrasanta, to the hills and valleys of our own Camaiore, Seravezza and the Apuan Alps. Mediterranean beaches, charming small coastal and inland cities and smaller hill towns generously peppered among forested hills, are all within a short drive from the studio...A perfect spot for your creative holiday adventure, whether you are living locally or visiting from abroad.
